Epic offering a direct payment that skirts around Apple and Google\u2019s payment systems in an app downloaded from their platform is a direct violation of the terms of use in the App Store and Play Store. At the moment, Epic is brazenly violating the TOS, and Fortnite could be pulled from both stores at any time.<\/p>\n<p>Epic is daring Apple and Google to do so, knowing that Fortnite is the most-played game on the planet right now. Trying to frame this as &#171;Apple\/Google banned my favorite game because it lowered prices&quot; is pretty savvy in terms of <a href=\"https:\/\/howto.com.de\/recomendet-sendpulse_com\" title=\"[sendpulse.com]\" class=\"pretty-link-keyword\"rel=\"\">marketing<\/a>, but Epic is playing chicken with two of the world\u2019s biggest technology companies. Epic hopes they\u2019ll make an exception and make a better split for Fortnite than for every other app and game. But it seems just as likely that Apple and Google will make an example out of Fortnite as a warning to other publishers not to follow in Epic\u2019s footsteps.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also a bit of a disingenuous move. In addition to the fact that Epic is still certainly paying fees for these lowered prices on Xbox, PS4, and Switch, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/398060\/steam-and-epic-are-in-a-game-store-battle-and-players-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"external external_icon\">Epic famously hosts its own game store on the PC<\/a>, allowing third parties to sell on its platform just like the App Store and Play Store.
